Click on the photo to download the event flier.In 2014, Broward County joined the national Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR) to increase the number of children reading at grade level by the time they complete grade 3. The Children’s Services Council of Broward County convened community partners with leadership and support from the Broward County Commission, Broward County Public Schools, Broward County Library System, Early Learning Coalition, United Way, Family Central, Jim Moran Foundation, A.D. Henderson Foundation, Community Foundation of Broward and others to form the Broward Reads Coalition – Campaign for Grade Level Reading (Broward Reads), now a formal component of the Broward County Children’s Strategic Plan.

Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Arc Broward

Specialized, in-home parent education provided at least bimonthly by Certified Behavioral Analysts, Bachelor’s and paraprofessional staff using the “Parents As Teachers” curriculum, modified to support parents of children with special needs. 

Length of program: Up to 3 years depending on family needs

Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Broward Children Center

Weekly, in-home parenting using the NPP Special Needs Curriculum. Services are provided by Bachelor’s level staff. Model serves families with chronic or life-threatening medical challenges, developmental delays, visual or auditory disabilities, and/or behavior disorders.
Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Center for Hearing and Communication

In-home program provided a minimum of once per week by Master’s level staff using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) curriculum to serve families at risk of abuse and neglect impacted by hearing loss.
Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Healthy Families

Healthy Families Broward is the local affiliate of Healthy Families Florida and Healthy Families America. It is the leading child abuse prevention program targeting new parents assessed at high-risk for child abuse.
Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Juliana Gerena & Associates

Family-based, in-home therapeutic program provided by Master’s level therapists using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to serve families with children with sexual behavioral conditions residing in their home. Services include comprehensive assessments, the development of a safety plan, individual and family counseling, case management, and therapeutic parent and youth group sessions.
Intensive In-Home Services - Special Population | Smith Community Mental Health

In-home therapy and case management services provided 1-2 times per week by Master’s level therapists with specific ability to work with families with youth having behavioral problems. Program uses the Alternatives for FamiliesCognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT) approach.
Intensive In-Home Services | Henderson Behavioral Health

Intensive, in-home interventions provided for an average of 10 face-to-face hours per week using the best practice model HOMEBUILDERS® Program. The families referred to this program must be referred by BSO CPIS and must be families at high risk of having their children removed from their home. Prior to making the referral, the BSO CPIS Supervisor and Service Provider Specialist must be consulted. Referrals cannot be faxed.

The greatest tool you can give a child is the ability to persuade and speak with confidence. Being that my YIG experience positively impacted my emotional literacy skills, I would like to pass these on to those who are less fortunate.
