About Us

The Children's Services Council of Broward County is an independent taxing authority established by the voters in 2000 and reauthorized in 2014.The CSC's mission is to provide leadership, advocacy and resources necessary to enhance the lives of the children of Broward County and empower them to become responsible, productive adults through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of services.

The organization funds close to a hundred programs that serve children and families, advocates for policies that protect the interests of future generations and provides leadership that brings the child-serving community together. The CSC works with Community Partners to help "Turn the Curve" in a positive direction on issues like: Maternal and Child Health Family Strengthening After-School and Out-of-School Time Kinship Care Youth Leadership, Advocacy and Employment Support for Youth and Families with Special Needs. The Children’s Strategic Plan

Broward Training Collaborative | CSC of Broward County

The Broward Training Collaborative is powered by the CSC and offers quality and affordable training workshops for professionals serving children and families in Broward County. Each session is led by instructors that are highly qualified and experienced in their field to provide an optimal learning environment. CEU’s are also offered for many of the completed courses. Camelot Community Care

Intensive, therapeutic program using the best practice model, Functional Family Therapy (FFT). In-home services, provided by highly-trained Master’s level clinicians, serve families with youth ages 10-18 at risk of delinquency or youth with a history of delinquent behavior.

In-home parenting education provided once per week by Bachelor’s or Master’s level staff using the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP) curriculum and/or the Circle of Security Model to serve families at risk of abuse and neglect.

Children’s Home Society of South Florida

In-home therapy program provided 1-2 times per week by Master’s level staff using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to serve families at risk of abuse and neglect. Case management and parenting education also provided using the NPP curriculum.

Cribs for Kids | Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Broward County

In 2003, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) published a report that estimated that the risk of infant suffocation increases 20-fold when infants and adults sleep in the same bed. Cribs for Kids provides low-income families with free GRACO Pack ‘n Play® cribs, one crib sheet, and a safe-sleep sack, and counsels parents on the dangers of co-sleeping.
