Children’s Services Council of Broward County

Cindy Arenberg Seltzer has played a pivotal role as the inaugural President/CEO of the Children’s Services Council of Broward County since the voters authorized it in September 2000 and reauthorized it in 2014. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s mission and guiding its development toward substantially impacting the lives of children and families. Her efforts have been focused on supporting and overseeing proven programs delivered by nearly 200 provider agencies. Her focus is to ensure that the initiatives have a tangible positive effect on children’s lives and to uphold transparency and accountability to the taxpayers of Broward County.

In addition to her impactful professional and community-oriented activities, Ms. Arenberg Seltzer’s educational background, with a BA in Psychology from the University of California – Irvine, a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center, and an MPA from Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, provides her with a robust foundation to lead and innovate in the field of children’s services. Her diverse education equips her with a unique blend of legal expertise, psychological insight, and public administration skills, enabling her to navigate and address the complex challenges facing children and families in Broward County.

Reflecting her dedication to various aspects of child wellbeing, Ms. Arenberg Seltzer holds leadership positions on several influential boards, including the Early Learning Coalition, the Coordinating Council of Broward, the Broward Behavioral Health Coalition, the Children and Families Leadership Association, the Broward College Village Square Advisory Board, the Florida Policy Institute, the Florida Alliance of Children’s Councils and Trusts, and many others. Her involvement in these boards signifies her commitment to fostering partnerships and collaborative efforts that enhance the welfare of children and families across multiple landscapes.

She has been honored for her leadership and commitment to excellence on numerous occasions throughout her career, including, most recently, induction into the Broward County Women’s Hall of Fame, honored as a Neighborhood Hero by Neighbors 4 Neighbors, recognition of CSC as a Sun-Sentinel Top Workplace in 2023 and 2024, and receiving the Leadership Award in the Small Employer Group from the Sun-Sentinel Top Work Places 2024. She also hosts the local television show “Future First: Focus on Broward’s Children,” which airs on BECON TV and can be found on CSC’s YouTube Channel.

When not out in the community collaborating or advocating on behalf of children and families, she can be found home enjoying family time with her husband and teenage daughter.
